The best Mindtrip alternatives in 2026, for Android, booking and human help
Six apps compared on who builds the plan, what they book and what they cost, checked against each app's own site and store listing.
Aino publishes this guide and is building a trip planning app of its own, launching in winter 2027. Every other app here is described from its own site and store listings, with prices dated.
Quick answer. Mindtrip is a free AI travel assistant that's good at finding places and turning saved links into a trip. It runs on iPhone (iOS 26 or later) and the web, and its homepage lists booking for flights, stays and restaurants. If you need something else, these are the alternatives we'd look at as of October 2026:
- Layla, if you want a human travel advisor to plan and book the whole trip, activities included.
- Wanderlog, if you want a free planner where you build each day yourself and see travel times on a map.
- Tripadvisor AI Assistant, if you want a free AI itinerary without making an account first.
- Stippl, if your trip has several stops and you want a cheap Pro plan.
- Klook, if you mostly need to book activities and local transport.
- GetYourGuide, if you want to book tours with free cancellation up to 24 hours before on most activities.
Why do people look for a Mindtrip alternative?
Mindtrip does plenty well. Its chat learns what you like and suggests where to stay, eat and explore. A feature called Start Anywhere turns an article, a video, a photo or a Google Maps list into a trip plan, which is handy if your ideas live in screenshots.
The app shows nearby places with distances and routes, finds local events and keeps itineraries available offline. You can share a trip with the people you're travelling with and edit it together.
You can book flights, stays and restaurants on Mindtrip, or let its assistant handle the details. It's free, and the iPhone app is rated 4.7 from 831 ratings on the US App Store (October 2026).
People usually go looking elsewhere for one of these reasons:
- They use Android. We found no app from Mindtrip, Inc. on Google Play on 13 October 2026, and the iPhone app needs iOS 26 or later.
- They want the activities booked too. Mindtrip helps you find things to do, and its homepage lists booking for flights, stays and restaurants.
- They want a person involved. We found no way to hand a Mindtrip trip over to a human travel advisor.
- They'd like to build the days by hand. Mindtrip starts from a chat, while Wanderlog and Stippl start from a list of days on a map.
How we compared them
We read each app's own website and its US App Store listing on 13 October 2026, and checked Google Play for Android versions. We didn't pay for any plan or book anything through these apps, so this compares what each company says its product does.
For each app we looked at who builds the day by day plan, whether it books activities, which phones it runs on, what it costs and how it's rated. Ratings are from the US App Store. Prices are as of October 2026, in US dollars unless the company quotes euros, and none of the sources say whether VAT is included.

Layla: AI planning with human travel advisors
Layla is an AI trip planner with a team of human travel advisors behind it. You give it your dates, places, budget and travel style, and its site says it builds a day by day plan using live prices and availability.
You can keep tweaking that plan with the AI or bring in an advisor. The advisor can rework the itinerary and book the hotels, flights, transfers and activities once you agree, and Layla says help carries on during the trip.
Layla also sells ready-made trips you can change before booking. Its 8 day Lapland in the snow trip covers Rovaniemi, Santa Claus Village and the wilds around them, with 1 hotel and 3 experiences, from about 2,277 € per person as of October 2026.
Most of what makes Layla different runs through a chat with an advisor, so it suits people who want that kind of help. It has apps on iOS and Android, plus the website, and the iPhone app is rated 4.7 from 204 ratings.
Check the price before you pay. Layla's website says it's free to use with no subscription fee, and you pay only for the travel you book. Its US App Store listing still shows subscriptions at $9.99 a month and $49.99 a year, and neither page says what a subscription adds.
Best for travellers who want one person to plan and book a trip that has to go right, like a honeymoon.
Wanderlog: a free planner where you build each day
Wanderlog puts your itinerary and a map side by side. You add places to each day, it shows the distance and travel time between them, and a route tool can put a day's stops in a better order.
Friends can edit the same trip at the same time. You can forward flight and hotel confirmation emails so your bookings sit in one place, and there's an AI assistant, budgeting with cost splitting, and offline plans.
Wanderlog says more than 8 million trips have been planned with it. The iPhone app is rated 4.9 from about 36,000 ratings on the US App Store.
You make the plan yourself here. Wanderlog's site and App Store listing don't describe booking activities, and for places to stay it gathers options and compares prices.
The core app is free. As of October 2026, Wanderlog Pro on the US App Store costs $5.99 to $16.99 a month or $31.99 to $59.99 a year, and we couldn't confirm which plan a given account sees. Live flight updates and automatic Gmail scanning are Pro perks.
Best for people who like to plan by hand and want to see each day on a map, on any phone. We also compared the best Wanderlog alternatives.
Tripadvisor AI Assistant: free itineraries backed by reviews
Tripadvisor's AI Assistant is a chat on Tripadvisor's website. Tell it where you're going, your dates and who's coming, answer a few follow-up questions, and it suggests hotels, restaurants and things to do.
Tripadvisor says the assistant draws on more than 1 billion traveller reviews and checks prices and availability in real time. You can save its day by day plan to your Trips, then move days around, add or drop stops and share it.
You can start without an account; signing in saves your trips and chats. The Tripadvisor app is rated 4.8 from 481,000 ratings on the US App Store and lists more than 400,000 experiences to book.
Booking happens outside the chat. Tripadvisor's FAQ says the assistant gives you booking links, and you book through Tripadvisor or the provider. The page doesn't say whether the plan allows for travel time between stops.
It's free. Best for a quick first draft with reviews attached, before you sign up for anything.
Stippl: multi-stop trips and a low-cost Pro plan
Stippl is built around the route. You add stops and the transport between them, like flights, trains and buses, see the whole journey on a map and plan each day hour by hour.
Its website says it maps every stop and works out distances and travel times. There's also a budget tracker, a packing list, bill splitting and a place to keep your flight, hotel, train and activity confirmations.
A recent update added booking places to stay inside the app, and the listing says the whole trip works offline. Stippl runs on iOS, Android and the web, and the iPhone app is rated 4.6 from 483 ratings.
The AI planner is a paid extra. Stippl's homepage calls it a free AI travel planner, while its App Store listing and its own Wanderlog comparison mark the AI itinerary as a Pro feature. We found no activity booking described.
The core app is free. Stippl's blog, updated in September 2026, puts Pro at 24.99 € a year, and US App Store prices for Pro range from $3.99 to $34.99.
Best for trips with several stops, such as a rail trip across a few countries, where the route matters as much as each day.
Klook: book activities, transport and stays in one app
Klook is a booking site and app for tours, attraction tickets, hotels, transport and car hire. A search for Rovaniemi on 13 October 2026 returned 107 results, including icebreaker cruises with ice floating and tours that combine Santa, reindeer and a husky ride.
The app has an AI travel companion called Bee that you can type or talk to, and a trip planner where you add your destination and dates. Klook's homepage mentions last-minute booking and free cancellation, and the iPhone app is rated 4.7 from 8,200 ratings.
Klook's listing doesn't describe building a day by day schedule, so you work out the timing yourself. We couldn't confirm from Klook's own pages whether you can pay for several activities in one checkout.
The app is free and you pay the listed price for each booking. Best for when you already know what you want to do and need to book it along with the transport. There's more in GetYourGuide vs Viator vs Klook.
GetYourGuide: tours with free cancellation
GetYourGuide is an activity marketplace, and its App Store listing says it has more than 75,000 experiences. Most bookings can be cancelled for free up to 24 hours before, and some popular ones can be reserved now and paid for later.
Your tickets are available offline. Its Rovaniemi page showed 500+ results on 13 October 2026, and the iPhone app is rated 4.9 from 330,000 ratings.
The listing talks about keeping your bookings in the app, and we found no itinerary builder described. The order of your days is up to you.
The app is free and you pay the listed price for each activity. Best for booking the one or two activities a trip is built around, with room to cancel if plans change.
Which Mindtrip alternative should you choose?
Start with what made you look. On Android and want an AI to draft the trip? Try Layla's app or the Tripadvisor AI Assistant in your browser.
If you want a person to plan and book everything, Layla is the only app here with human advisors. If you'd rather plan for free and decide every day yourself, go with Wanderlog, or Stippl for trips with several stops.
If you already know what you want to do, GetYourGuide and Klook sell activities directly. You can also keep Mindtrip on your iPhone for finding places and book the activities on a marketplace.
